For the first time, the Australian Art Orchestra seeks a new Executive Leadership team, creating the rare opportunity for individuals or collectives to propose their vision for the future of the organisation. The AAO seeks proposals for two roles – Artistic Director/s and Executive Director – and welcomes individual and joint applications.

The opportunity to become the Australian Art Orchestra’s Artistic Director/s or Executive Director comes at an exciting moment of evolution for the organisation. Together with a new Executive Director, the Artistic Director/s will shape the future direction of the AAO, informed by their diverse perspectives, experiences and passion for contemporary art music and the arts more broadly.
For the first time, the AAO Board seeks proposals from individuals and collectives who have a creative vision for the next chapter of AAO and are excited by the opportunities and challenges ahead.

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR/S
SELECTION CRITERIA
• A vision for the future of AAO
• Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the contemporary music scene and
AAO’s position within it.
• Ability to deliver an innovative and contemporary music program against financial goals and organisational capacity.
• A broad working knowledge and experience working with diverse musician/art communities and (developing) audiences.
• Demonstrated leadership in the arts sector, with an approach that is collaborative and inclusive
• High level planning, project, time management and writing skills

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
SELECTION CRITERIA

• Experience and qualifications in the arts or related industry
• Proven ability to raise revenue from a variety of sources
• High level planning, project, time management and writing skills
• Proven ability to supervise staff and delegate work effectively
